Dino Terminal: a native home for coding agents

A native macOS app for running Claude Code in a real terminal, with per-project personas, file preview, a live task panel and a rich agent view, signed and self-updating.

Why build it

Coding agents do their best work in a real terminal, but a terminal knows nothing about projects, tasks or the files you are reading alongside the agent. I wanted one window built around how agent work actually happens.

What it does

A real terminal. The agent runs in a genuine pseudo-terminal on the machine, with the user's own shell environment, not a chat imitation.
Classic and rich views. Switch between the raw terminal and a rich feed that renders the agent's structured output as tool cards, streamed answers and token usage.
Personas per project. Each profile carries its own working directory, extra roots, arguments and task file, so moving between repositories is one click.
Files and tasks beside the agent. A read-only file browser previews specs and handovers in tabs, and a task panel watches the agent's task list as it changes.
Status at a glance. Context and rate-limit readouts sit in a status bar.

How it ships

A Rust host and a React front end talk over typed IPC, with file access limited to an explicit read-only scope. Releases are built in CI, signed, and delivered through a verified auto-updater, so users always run a build they can trust.
