Multi-currency tuition flows over bank rails with compliance built in, plus a points economy that brings students back each term. Now processing US$10M+ in payments.
SFX makes paying tuition across borders simple: students and families pay in their own currency, and SFX handles the exchange, the bank rails and the compliance needed to land the fee with the institution.
Since December 2023 I have been SFX's early product partner. I built the product with the team: the multi-currency tuition payment flows, the bank rails behind them and the compliance logic that keeps them safe, alongside company setup and go-to-market priorities. SFX now processes between US$10 million and US$15 million in tuition and FX payments, is registered as a Money Services Business with the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), and in March 2026 was named among Circle's first developer grant recipients of the year.
SFX Points rewards students for using the platform: a points economy with spend challenges, timed competitions, a leaderboard and cashback, designed to bring people back each term rather than once.
I continue to advise SFX on technical product direction.
